Please note…We Never "Recover" anything! We "Reupholster". What this means is that every piece of furniture that comes to our shop is stripped down to the fame. Then we inspect the frame for structural integrity and make sure the springs are tied properly and in good condition. Although the springs rarely need to be replaced, we often have to re-tie them so they sit and work properly.
Once this is done, we proceed with the reupholstery as if the furniture was brand new. We replace all of the "findings" which are the components that go into the preparation of the furniture before the new fabric is put on. We can leave the frame the way it is or make modifications. For example, you may want to change the shape of the arm or the back. These things came be done within reason while the frame is stripped.
The only remaining thing to do is decide whether to replace the old cushions and seats or use the originals. In many cases, it is the fabric that needs to be replaced, either from wear and tear or age. The insides of seat and back cushions can usually be cleaned up, re-wrapped and used again. If not, we can make new cushions from soft to firm or with custom down feathers.
We encourage our customers to make an appointment to come by and see the process first hand if they would like to. Our shop is open every day from 7:30 to 3:30 Monday through Friday. We take great pride in our knowledge of furniture and craftsmanship of our work. No job is too small or too big and remember…pickup and delivery are always free in the greater Boston area.
