TPB Series Thermoplastic Strip Builders

The TPB Thermoplastic Strip Builder provides a technique for covering rollers and mandrels with a wide range of thermoplastic materials. This application of extruded thermoplastic materials to rotating cylinders is similar to our Universal & Thermoset Strip Building (USB & TSB) machine's application process. The thermoplastic extruder can be equipped to color your rolls.

A plastics extruder is used in place of a rubber extruder to heat, mix and extrude a continuous melt strip onto a moving conveyor belt that transports the hot thermoplastic material to the point of application. It is spirally wrapped along the length of a rotating cylinder where material build-up can be closely monitored and controlled to any reasonable wall thickness while being applied in single or multiple passes.
