The full suspension Bushmaster can also serve individuals who need shock absorption, not for off road use, but to cushion spine and neck injuries, and for this kind of use can be outfitted with narrower and higher pressure road tires for efficient on-road operation.
The Bushmaster is descended from the Ranger and the Bigfoot models, and shares the identical pedal-to-seat relationship and comfortable and easy-to-use overall ergonomics. It features the same proven off-road handling created by medium-height pedal position and a more-upright seat position. Seat height is the same on this tall recumbent as it is on the Bigfoot-about 3″ taller than the Ranger when unweighted. Progressive ergonomics allow shorter riders as well as tall ones to reach the ground, and the highly adjustable seat and handlebars accommodate a wide range of individuals.
We have been working on elements of this cycle for a decade. The Bushmaster was introduced in late spring 2012, and does not yet have industry reviews. We are quite pleased with its handling and have tested it under challenging conditions, including rocky trails and fast downhill runs on single-track. It uses a rear end suspension system that we have first used in 2007, which has served well.
