Stainless steel filters

Fluid Conditioning Products manufactures cleanable, stainless steel filters that provide certain advantages over disposable filters. These filters are FCP's recommended filtration solution. These cleanable filters allow filtration to take place at extreme temperatures, at high pressures or in fluids that are incompatible with disposable filters. Yet, to maintain the high dirt-loading and beta characteristics of disposable media, we developed depth type filters using layers of stainless steel fiber. These filters are easily cleaned by back flushing, ultrasonics or chemical cleaning.

Stainless steel filters are used in demanding engineering specifications which require filtration to occur in adverse environmental conditions. These include jet engine lubricant filters or high-pressure hydraulic filters.

One aerospace application for a stainless steel, cleanable filter is the sintered stainless steel filtration unit we engineered for the high temperature, compressed air system on the Pratt & Whitney PT6 engine. This resulted in a longer operating cycle with less rehabilitative maintenance.
