Welcome to John's shohin bonsai selections. These bonsai have been selected by John as being particularly good shohin bonsai candidates. Many he has worked on and others were selected 'as is' for you, the designer, to work your own magic with it. We've tried to put trees in all price ranges.
'Shohin' literally means 'small object'. Shohin bonsai are those that can be held in one hand and generally are not to exceed 10" in height. Because of their small size, they are easier for smaller spaces but can have the same (if not more) evocative impact as a larger bonsai, and they are fun to work with!
Since John is one of the foremost shohin bonsai artists in the country and we are one of the best nurseries we think its a good opportunity to offer some excellent material for those who are shohin afficiandos or for those who simply like working with smaller trees.
