San Francisco and Oak Alley Plantation Tour - Path of the Slave Revolt
Afterwards, follow the narrated path of the historic 1811 Slave Revolt, the largest revolt in American history, to romantic San Francisco mansionand plantation. This colorfully decorated steamboat house style mansion is the only authentically restored plantation home on the Old River Road. Its wonderful color reflects the trends of 19th century Barvaria and taste of its Creole mistress.
The mansion tour features antiques, architecture, the plantation's slave quarters and the plantation's Civil War occupation by Union troops.. The driving tour centers on slavery, the 1811 Slave Revolt,the slavemarkets, the Code Noir,voodoo and the Quadroon balls of old New Orleans.
This is a morning tour. Hotel Pick Up is between 7:45 and 8 AM depending on your hotel location. The tour leaves at 8:00 a.m. and returns about 2 p.m.
