Loads of tree fruit aromas, especially nectarine and tangerine, are found in this fragrant wine. The palate is perfectly balanced, with a soft yet zesty finish. The slight sweetness makes this Riesling incredibly versatile.
Production Notes:Grapes were harvested in the early morning hours to keep them as cool as possible. After pressing, settling and racking, each tank of juice was inoculated with one of several selected yeast strains. Fermentation was arrested before dryness, leaving a small amount of residual sugar. The wines were racked off heavy lees within two weeks to preserve the fruit aromas and retain a crisp mouthfeel. The finished wine was assembled from four separate lots of wine, each one bringing specific nuances to the blend.
Winemaker Notes:This semi-dry Riesling is the latest release of what has become one of Fox Run's most renowned wines. The goal was to produce a wine with precision and clarity, full of cool-climate Riesling aromas and possessed of superb balance. Don't be afraid to give this a few years' bottle age.
