Paperboard Packaging

Although paperboard is a type of cardboard, packaging made with paperboard is quite different than that made with the oft-seen brown corrugated cardboard. In many cases, paperboard packaging is preferable for a number of products, especially lighter items and foodstuffs.

Paperboard packaging allows for a number of folding carton styles that corrugated cardboard does not, including self-sealing bottoms and snap-lock bottoms. These types of bottoms do not require tape, saving you the expense and effort, and also are easy to assemble, saving you time. However, paperboard packaging is sturdy and protects your products against contaminants and damages during shipping.

Paperboard packaging also takes up less space than corrugated cardboard packaging. Because it is thinner, you can fit more in shipping cartons and on store shelves. Further, paperboard packaging is easy to print on and lets you add your own designs, as well as necessary information such as nutritional labels and ingredients. Paperboard packaging is easier to manipulate than thicker versions of cardboard, allowing more shapes and structural options. This fact means that you can design a package that is uniquely yours both in shape and in design.
