Description
The submersion pool process is often used on woven carpets. Woven carpets (rugs) are not glued together with some type of backing; they are actually woven and knotted through the backing. Therefore, you can completely submerse the rug in water and cleaning solution and "soak" the dirt out. This process is very effective for cleaning oriental-type rugs. Even the bleeders can be cleaned and the fugitive or oxidized dye can be removed, which enhances the colors in the rug. First the rugs are dusted, placed in the pool and scrubbed, hung up and rinsed with clean water, groomed or brushed, and dried. This process takes a couple of days total and is obviously done in our facility. The dry powder, or capture, process is used for "bleeders" or material that cannot have moisture applied to it. It is a product made of ground corn cobs and treated with an absorbent chemical. It is applied or sprinkled heavily on the material and agitated deeply into the material and allowed to work for several hours and then removed by vacuuming. This process is extremely successful on sisal carpet, Navajo rugs, or bad bleeders where fugitive dyes cannot be flooded out. There is no drying time involved but the process must sometimes be repeated. A-Town/Hi-Tech will pick up your rug, clean it in our state-of-the-art plant and deliver it back to your home. You may also choose to drop it off and pick it up yourself and save!
