Norton Jeroboam Wine

Following the death of King Solomon in 932 BCE the Kingdom of Israel split into two parts. Two of the 12 tribes followed Solomon's son, Rehoboam, and created the Kingdom of Judah, while the remaining 10 tribes made up the new Kingdom of Israel with Jeroboam as their king. Jeroboam reigned for 22 years until his death.
Today different sized wine bottles are named for various biblical kings. The Jeroboam wine bottle is able to hold four standard size bottles of wine (3 Liters) and is also known as the Double-Magnum.

Serving Instructions
This Norton Jeroboam is sealed with a cork and then dipped in wax. To open the bottle you must first cut away the wax, then screw in a waiter's corkscrew as far as you can. This cork is larger than an average sized cork, so make sure you have a long enough corkscrew.
Once opened, you will want to pour the wine into a decanter. Since this is a 2004 vintage you will want to decant it for 1-2 hours to fully enhance to flavors and aromas. Also, because of the large size of the bottle, the wine is easier to serve from a decanter.
