Nikon Research Microscope Eclipse E800, Epi-fluorescence

Until very recently, the Eclipse E800 was the top-of-the-line Nikon research microscope. Great versatility being the hallmark of such an instrument, this particular stand has been optimized for ep-fluorescence studies. It includes the special vertical illumination train with highly corrected optics and a slider mechanism for rapid interchange of up to five different epi-fluorescence filter modules.

The nosepiece accepts up to six objectives (25mm mounting thread) and is corrected for use with infinity optics with a 60mm adjustment length. The stage is a generous 215mm by 148mm in area, with a 54 by 78mm range of travel. Stage may be centered and rotated (via ball-bearing race) through 215 degrees. Stage surface is hard-coated for extreme durability.

The microscope includes a 12v 100w lamphouse for transmitted light, and a 0.90na Abbe-type condenser. The oculars are paired CFIUW 10x ultra-wide-field (32mm diameter) corrected for a 25mm fov index.

The microscope includes the intermediate tube with a second port mountied behind the VTF viewing tube. The slider for diverting the image to the rear tube has a dovetail for mounting up to two beam-splitters, but none are included.
