High Definition Plasma

Richards offers high definition plasma cutting, which is cleaner and more precise then standard plasma. This cutting technique is often selected by engineers and OEMs for those parts or shapes that do not need the higher cost of a laser-cut part. It is not as burr-free and tapper-free as a laser-cut part, but cuts cleanly at a more cost effective price point. Many of the turnkey projects we do have both laser cut and high definition plasma cut parts, each justified by what the allowable tolerances are and what purpose the part serves. If the part is critical and high tolerance, we do recommend laser cutting.

Our cutting capacities are:

• Carbon Steel - Up to 1 ½ " thick
• Sheets - Up to 72" wide and 240" long
• Alternative when tolerances of .030" are allowed
