Flange Facing Machines

The Silk AX321 is constructed from the highest quality materials. It is designed to give machine shop accuracy combined with portability and ease of handling on flanges from 3"-21" (75mm-533mm) in diameter. The machine has three main assemblies for machine operation. The Base Assembly has two separate mounting bases that enable the machine to be installed in the center of any flange from 3"-21" (75mm-533mm). For bores between 3"-6" (75mm-150mm) a unique collet system is used. Bores 4"-10" (100mm-254mm) a self aligning independent jaw chuck base is utilized. The Drive Unit consists of a 0.85hp (0.66kw) pneumatic motor, which can be mounted vertically or horizontally to the drive hub. The Feed System utilizes four feed rails and a crosshead supported by precision linear bearings for rigidity and accuracy. Two leadscrews are supplied to give a fine and coarse feed for a total of four surface finishes. Drive input to the gearbox is derived from the drive hub take-off gear. The gearbox provides two different feed rates selected by push / pull selector. Traverse is selected by push / pull selector, which selects IN, OUT, and NEUTRAL position. The neutral position can be used for rotating the surfacing arm by hand for tool positioning.
