Express method for determining the ash content of coal PP196
The development can be used for express quality determination, including ash content, coal in the mining, power and metallurgy industries. The consumer fuel quality is characterized by the ratio of combustible and non - combustible components. The generally accepted method for determining the mineral component (ash content) of coal is to burn fuel samples (ozonation). The disadvantage of such approach is significant time spent on the analysis. In the conditions of industrial coal mining, such long - term measurements are unacceptable, since it is necessary to know these characteristics before shipment of coal to the consumer.
The sample is subjected to low - power (20 W) X - rays containing several monochromatic lines. The fluorescence radiation of the chemical elements of the sample is recorded, as well as the Compton and Relay scattering of monochromatic radiation per sample. The mass fraction of ash is determined by the ratio of the peaks of the Compton and Relay scattering taking into account the intensity of the fluorescence of iron. The method of calibration from standard samples is carried out by measuring the mass fraction of ash. Device doesn`t require connection to water and vacuuming of the case. It has overall dimensions 400 * 150 * 600 mm. The reliability of the work is due to the use of the main nodes (tubes, detector, power supply) components of the company Amptek (USA). The cost of the device is 50 thousand dollars.
Was applied for a patent for Ukraine for the invention .
The sample was made, the principles were worked out, the expected characteristics were confirmed.
