A common problem with crude oil is that it contains natural surfactants and other contaminants that allow the entrapment of water droplets (water-in-oil emulsion). The trapped water must be removed before it can be taken to the refinery. Oil may also be trapped in the water, which leads to costly injection well problems that result from suspended oil that is disposed with the water.

To combat emulsion issues, emulsion breakers (demulsifiers) are used to aid in the separation of these emulsions. Because every emulsion is unique, our trained consultants will test each emulsion and recommend a customized blend to treat your site. Our finished emulsion breaker products are normally a blend of several different emulsion breaker bases. We offer our emulsion breakers in three different blends based on your preference; as a ready-to-use finished product, as individual components for custom blending, or as a concentrate that only requires dilution with solvent.
