Description
This bee block design offers two sizes of holes allowing various solitary hole-nesting bees (native leaf -cutting, mason and megachilids) to lay their eggs throughout the flowering months, rather than the mason bees that are active mostly in early spring. This ensures colonization when crops are flowering and attracts aggressive pollinators for orchards, blueberry fields, and gardens. The bee block hangs on an angle to protect the tunnels from excess moisture with a roof to provide extra protection from the weather. Made of native grown and milled spruce and natural pine lumber it measures 6" tall X 7" deep with the roof extending to 8 1/2". Each block has 14 nesting holes; 7 small and 7 large.
