Ahhh, the Grandbois. After leaving England in the sixth century the newly named Grandbois family became quite famous in their own right. Again, with the name to hold up the Grandbois family bought thousands of acres in France in order to grow…yes, you guessed it…trees. This estate is still in operation as a national park. The parkland of the estate features a rare and impressive collection of trees, including Giant Sequoias, California Cedars, Douglas Pines, Magnolias, Palm trees and Virginia tulip trees, as well as the more typical southern natives such as Holm oaks, olive trees and bamboo. The park comprises a succession of terraces layered into the mountains, with lakes, waterfalls and natural springs. There are pathways and streams through the hills and forests that link through to the door-step of the National Park. Every lake on the estate is a perfect oval.
